Your Questions, Answered

How do I choose my sharpening stone?

The lower the number, the more abrasive the grit. A low number (for example, 180 or 400) is useful for restoring a very dull blade or for occasional sharpening.

On the other hand, a less abrasive grit (higher number, for example, 2000 or 6000) is recommended for achieving a razor-sharp edge, but it will require more time, especially on a dull blade. If you don’t have any sharpening stones at home, it’s recommended to choose a versatile double-sided stone with both a coarse and a medium grit, such as our 180/800 stone.
